Please take time to read the following questions, if you are at all unsure, please seek your Doctor's advice...


Has your doctor ever said that you have a heart condition and that you should only do physical activity recommended by a doctor?

Do you feel pain in your chest when you do physical activity?
Yes/No

In the past month, have you had chest pain when you
were not doing physical activity?
Yes/No

Do you lose your balance because of dizziness or do you ever lose consciousness?
Yes/No

Do you have a bone or joint problem that could be made made worse by a change in your physical activity?
Yes/No

Is your doctor currently prescribing drugs (for example, water pills) for your blood pressure or heart condition?
Yes/No

Do you know of any other reason why you should not do physical activity?
Yes/No

If you have answered YES to all questions...


  •  Talk with your doctor FIRST.  This form of exercise  may NOT BE SUITABLE FOR YOU at this time...


If you have answered NO to all questions...


If you answered NO to all PAR-Q questions, you can be reasonably sure that you can:

  • Start becoming much more physically active -- begin slowly and build up gradually. This is the safest and easiest way to go, remember Zumba Fitness® is completely new to you, so go gently and build up!

Delay becoming much more active:

  • If you are not feeling well because of a temporary illness such as a cold or a fever -- wait until you feel better.

  • If you are or may be pregnant -- talk to your doctor FIRST to get the go ahead to attend classes.
